Probably the only bungalow with an indoor heated pool offers guests rest and relaxation in an atrium type setting.
We stayed here for 3 nights with our two adolescent children, thanks to Walker Tours who booked it. We were pampered to the max in this beautifully appointed colonial-style property overlooking Lake Gregory. The butler Ragu and housekeeper Soyza saw to our every need and were so keen to ensure we had the perfect holiday. Chef Anuradha turns out the most delectable Sri Lankan food to order (not to mention the yummy desserts) and Ragu waits upon you at the table treating you like royalty. The indoor heated pool provides excellent relaxation after a day’s activities. Ragu organized for us to do a bike ride along the lake and facilitated a midnight excursion to Adam’s Peak. Loved the luxurious suite Gregory with an en-suite steam room. At night your beds are turned down with cost hot water bottles tucked into the linen. Loved Ragu’s gorgeous fresh flower arrangements made with such skill in all parts of the house. He even did a vase of roses for our en-suite. Due to the location of the house, there is a lot of loud music and religious chanting over loudspeakers which sort of disturbs the peace a bit, but all the positives about this beautiful boutique hotel override this little negative. There are many cozy spots to relax in or play cards or board games and many fireplaces around the house to keep you warm. Ragu, Soyza, and Chef Anuradha are an absolute asset to this place. Thank you for a fantastic three days!!

A short distance away from Firsmead (approximately four kilometers) is the Pedro Tea Estate and its factory is open to visitors. It is highly recommended particularly for Tea drinkers who will be taken on a guided tour of the factory.
Minutes away from Firsmead, the Galway Forest is home to over twenty rare migrant bird species and thirty native species. The forest has valuable floral species of both native and foreign origin.
A twenty-minute walk from the bungalow will take you to the racecourse where a few riding schools are available. Please speak to the office to make an appointment at any one of the schools.
